Community Care Services is a statewide nonprofit Therapeutic Foster Care agency serving children between the ages of 6-18 with complex behavioral, emotional, medical, or developmental challenges.
The child of the week for 10/1/12 is a charming 10 year old boy. He has had a difficult few years- he was removed from his mother’s care due to neglect and physical abuse in August of 2009, and in August of 2010 his dad was killed. This child has been struggling to deal with these losses and has a lot of anger built up inside him because of it. He has bounced around quite a bit and is currently hoping to find a stable home in the Willimantic area. He is a great kid- very funny, likeable, and sweet. He loves playing basketball and football, and he loves being outside. He is a really creative thinker and likes to use his hands to make new toys. He is hoping to find a foster home with kids who are older than him who he can look up to. He also wants a positive male role model in his life.
