Jeffrey P. Ossen Family Foundation Donates $10,000 To Nutmeg Big Brothers Big Sisters

The Jeffrey P. Ossen Family Foundation recently awarded $10,000 to Nutmeg Big Brothers Big Sisters, Connecticut's premier youth mentoring organization. The announcement was made by Andy Fleischmann, the organization's President and CEO.

"We are honored to receive this generous donation from the Ossen Family Foundation," said Andy Fleischmann. "Because of this generosity, we will be able to move more children off our waiting list and into life-altering matches with caring, inspirational adults. The horizons of these children in need will expand, helping them to reach their highest potential in life."

"Nutmeg Big Brothers Big Sisters is well known for improving the quality of life for children with limited resources," said Eileen Ossen, Executive Director of the Jeffrey P. Ossen Family Foundation. "When you help children to succeed, you also strengthen their families, their neighborhoods and their entire communities. We are thrilled to be in a position to contribute to such a worthwhile goal."

Nutmeg does this by creating and maintaining one-on-one relationships between children in need and professionally-screened, inspirational adult volunteers. Based in Hartford, Nutmeg was founded in 1966. It's funded, in part, by United Way organizations. It serves thousands of children in 111 of the state's 169 municipalities.
