Planned Parenthood of Southern New England (PPSNE) welcomes Lindsay Delaire, Certified Nurse Midwife, to its Danielson health center, where more than 3,500 patients are seen annually. Delaire comes to PPSNE with a passion for women’s health and dedication to the patients and entire Danielson community.
Certified Nurse Midwives (CNMs) provide a woman general health care throughout her life. These services include check-ups, pregnancy care, well woman gynecologic care and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases and infections.
“Certified Nurse Midwives have unique skills and special talents that benefit patients when they come for an exam,” said Kafi Rouse Director of Public Relations & Marketing of Planned Parenthood of Southern New England. “Certified Nurse Midwives have the training, knowledge and compassion to care for a woman at all stages of her life.”
PPSNE midwives focus on a woman’s unique situation and values and work with other members of the health care team to ensure she receives quality, confidential and nonjudgmental care. With their advanced education and their focus on research and partnering with women, CNMs are among the most modern and forward-thinking health care providers.
Delaire studied midwifery at the Frontier School of Midwifery and Family Nursing. She is a 2008 graduate from Simmons College, where she received a Bachelor of Science in nursing. Before coming to PPSNE, Delaire worked at Boston Healthcare for the Homeless Program, Miriam Hospital and the Providence Community Health Center OB/GYN clinic.
