Webster Opens New Banking Center in Storrs

Webster Bank, a leading regional bank serving businesses and consumers from Westchester County, N.Y. to Boston, Mass., today opened its 169th banking center in Storrs, Conn.  It is part of the pedestrian-friendly, main street community called Storrs Center.

The opening of the 1,485-square-foot banking center coincides with the new fall semester at the University of Connecticut.  Webster is the official bank of UConn Athletics and the University of Connecticut Alumni Association.

Webster bankers will be on hand to welcome new and returning students, their families, and faculty.  Emma Lindsay and Greg Wilson – who are both UConn alumni – lead the team to deliver an exceptional customer experience.

Some of the exciting new features at the banking center include a state-of-the-art design with an open floor plan, as well as Wi-Fi, digital displays, an image capture envelope free ATM, a coin counter, and a 24/7 deposit box all supported by Webster’s Universal Bankers.

“From the moment you walk in, you’ll feel welcome,” said Jerry Plush, president and chief operating officer of Webster.  “Our newest banking center is an inviting place for consumers and business customers to conduct banking transactions, manage their cash flow more effectively, and get a wide range of financial advice from our Universal Bankers.  We are excited to have Emma and Greg lead our team, who are focused on meeting the financial needs of our customers.”

To provide additional convenience, Webster ATMs and products will be available not only on the main campus in Storrs but across the university’s regional campuses.  The Storrs ATMs are located at the Harry A. Gampel Pavilion, the Student Union, the Wilbur Crossing Building, the Storrs South Campus Lobby, and the library.  Three ATMs are at Rentschler Field in East Hartford, Conn.  Additional ATMs are at the UConn Health Center in Farmington, Conn., and on campuses at Avery Point, the Hartford Law School, Stamford, Torrington, and Waterbury.

A special Grand Opening ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held on Thursday, September 12 at 1 p.m.
