After Hurricane Irene: A Complete List of Mansfield Road Closures

High winds and heavy rains force road closures due to debris.

The worst of Hurricane Irene is over, but Mansfield is still feeling the effects of her tropical storm. According to Connecticut Ligh & Power (CL&P), 5,490 of Mansfield’s 6,560 CL&P customers (83 percent), were without power as of 11 p.m. Sunday.

While Connecticut State Police Trooper Joshua Woodward said that no roads had sustained any flooding due to the storm, there remain a significant number of road closures in the area.

Woodward said the following roads were closed due to fallen trees and/or downed wires and debris:

  • Foster Drive at Rte. 195
  • Meadowbrook Lane
  • Pudding Lane
  • Browns Road
  • Gurleyville Road
  • Lynwood Road
  • North Eagleville Road
  • Westwood Road
  • Dunham Pond Road
  • Flaherty Road at Storrs Heights
  • Bundy Lane
  • Chaffeeville at Stonemill Road
  • Hanks Hill Road
  • Wormwood Hill Road
  • Wormwood at Mount Hope Road
  • Old Turnpike Road
  • Daleville Road
  • Mansfield City Road
  • Cedar Swamp Road
  • Forest Road
  • Meadowood Road
  • Rte. 89 at Laurel Lane
  • Stafford Bridge Road at South Bedlam Road

There is currently no estimated time for full access to the roads, and Woodward encouraged residents to steer clear of those areas.

“If you don’t need to go out, stay inside because we don’t want any motor vehicle traffic to contribute to the problems,” Woodward said.
