Have You Heard About StoDoArts?

If you like music and movies in your summertime fun, you're going to love this!

A press release from StoDoArts:

A new name in town: StoDoArts at Storrs Center.

StoDoArts is a community group that has come together to create summer activities and events in and around the new Storrs downtown. This group is coordinating with the Mansfield Downtown Partnership, Leyland Alliance, UConn Summer Programs, and the School of Fine Arts.

The purpose of StoDoArts and the cooperating organizations is to help create a vibrant and lively environment in Storrs Center. This summer, the group is taking on two initiatives.

The first initiative, a film series called Film Fridays, will return to von der Mehden Recital Hall on June 21, 2013 and continue through August 16, 2013. It is an initiative made possible with the support of Dean Brid Grant and the School of Fine Arts, but must be funded by admission fees and the community.

On movie nights von der Mehden Box Office will open at 7 p.m. and the movies will be shown at 7:30.  Von der Mehden at UConn is just a stone’s throw from  Storrs Center with convenient parking. An admission of $5 per person (cash only) will be charged. Many of the movies will be accompanied by a theme for the evening.  See the Town of Mansfield website for details.
