Desmond was surrendered by his owner to The New Haven Animal Shelter where he quickly became a volunteer favourite. He loved to climb onto chairs, or into your lap. Desmond had Shelter Mammas spending time with him every day. We called him Sweet Baby Desmond. Dez had a hard time adjusting to the stress of shelter life, and was transferred to a smaller, and quieter shelter. He was adopted within a ...week by Alex Wullaert 22, who was half of the original owners. There was no way of knowing he was the significant other of the woman who surrendered him. Baby Desmond lived with him for almost a year before being hanged to death after allegedly urinating on Alex's leg. Desmond had no food in his belly, only pieces of plastic. Alex admitted to not having money for dog food, and admitted to feeding him only 1 cup of rice per day. An autopsy showed he was had broken teeth and was covered in bruises.

Justice for Desmond (FB) is proud to be a peaceful presence at all upcoming court dates to show that these crimes must not go unpunished and we hope this person is prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law!
