AT&T Expands Network in Mansfield

AT&T activated a new cell site in town as part of the company's investment in local wireless networks.

AT&T recently activated a new 4G mobile Internet cell site in Mansfield that the company says will enhance coverage for residents, local businesses and the University of Connecticut community.

"We have the nation's (and New England's) largest 4G network, and we know our customers in the Mansfield area rely on AT&T for a fast and reliable network," AT&T spokesperson Meaghan Wims told Mansfield-Storrs Patch.

"Our new cell site in Mansfield is part of our continuing investment in our Connecticut networks, an investment that totaled nearly $975 million statewide just from 2008 through 2011 alone," Wims said.
