Drive through the intersection of Routes 44, 195 and 320 and you'll find a fenced off area with construction machinery and mounds of earth where once stood.
The site, situated across the street from , will soon be home to Cumberland Farms, a convenience store/gas station at 634 Middle Tpke. and 1660 Storrs Rd.
Plans for the 3,634-square-foot store include traditional convenience items along with breakfast fare, pizza, fresh sandwiches and hot and cold beverages, according to documents filed with the P&Z Commission.
Plans also call for four gasoline dispensers, two 20,000-gallon underground storage tanks, an exterior garbage collection area and nearly two dozen parking spaces, according to documents filed with the P&Z Commission.

"The proposed development will substantially improve the appearance and functionality of the properties at the northeast corner of this key intersection," Cumberland Farms Attorney Joseph P. Williams, stated in a document filed with the P&Z Commission.
The store will operate on a 24-hour basis, and is expected to create three full-time jobs and 10 part-time jobs in the community.
Mansfield Zoning Agent Curt Hirsch said Thursday that while Cumberland Farms had not provided a time-line for construction, its plans were in compliance with land use regulations and the build-out could happen in the near future.
