Shawn B. Cyr has been appointed the new principal of Mansfield Clinical Day Treatment and Inpatient Schools at .
Cyr, a former special education teacher from Berlin Public Schools, will serve in the hospital's mental health treatment for children in grades K through 12, Natchaug Hospital announced in a news release.
In addition to his special education experience, Cyr has taught as a paraprofessional, substitute and full-time teacher in Hartford, and acted as an administrative intern, union representative, and interim department coordinator, according to the hospital.
“This is an excellent opportunity to assist in the education of the whole child,” Cyr said in a prepared statement. “We have new and returning staff at both programs this year, and I cannot wait to work with them after all the great things I’ve heard," he said.
