Why choose that location? Why start a business in this town?
My previous studio was in an old mill in Willington and, while architecturally interesting, it didn't have the access and conveniences that I found in suite at the Holiday Mall shopping center.
What do you do?
I do primarily portrait sessions in the studio -- children, families, pets, corporate and performer headshots, engagements, and products.
When out of the studio, I do landscape and nature photography, and I have proudly exhibited in local shops/galleries.
What are you most proud of about your business?
I am most proud of the joy that I bring to my clients. It's fun to work with a wide range of people, and all different age groups, and there's nothing like hearing squeals of delight when they get their first peek at my photos.
What's something people would find surprising about your business or profession?
Photography is my passion -- I know every photographer includes those words in their bios but I get so into a shoot, I sometimes forget to breathe! Oh, and in my 'spare' time, I'm a primary school reading specialist, so studio time is by appointment only.
How are you involved in the community?
I donate photo greeting card packs, or include my matted prints or studio services in silent auctions for causes/organizations with which I identify or support.
