UConn Alumni Association Announces New Members of the Board of Directors

Storrs, Conn. (June 25, 2014) The University of Connecticut Alumni Association announced today new and returning members of the Board of Directors for fiscal year 2014-2015.

The Board of Directors is the governing body of the Alumni Association and is elected by its members. This year, six new members were elected to the Board, and each will serve three-year terms. The new members are Carl S. Ey ’88 (Alexandria, Va.), Caren Kittredge ’83 (Glastonbury, Conn.), Jesus Malave Jr. ’91, ’03 (Windsor, Conn.), *Francis L. Onofrio ’81 (Kensington, Conn.), *George Springer Jr. ’85, ’88 (New Britain, Conn.), and Kevin Sullivan ’82 (West Hartford, Conn.).

Jennifer Benson ’15 (Durham, Conn.), president of the Student Alumni Association, has been appointed to serve a one-year term as Student Representative on the Board.

On June 21, at the Alumni Association’s Annual Meeting, the members of the Board elected the following officers for the 2014-2015 fiscal year: Lori Riiska ’84 (Winsted, Conn.), president; Laura Cahill ’84 (Glastonbury, Conn.), immediate past president; Nicholas Roy ’06 (Manchester, Conn.), president-elect; Richard Twilley ’96, ’04 (Glastonbury, Conn.), treasurer; and Jim Oleksiw ’75 (Rocky Hill, Conn.), secretary. During this time, Montique “Mo” Cotton Kelly, who began her position as UConn’s assistant vice president for alumni relations and executive director of the Alumni Association on June 13, was also formally introduced.

“This is an exciting time to be at the helm of the UConn Alumni Association,” said Cotton Kelly. “I am proud to be a part of the Husky family and look forward to working with our Board of Directors, alumni, and students.”
