Two publishers; a humorous confusion: O Canada
So I get an email on Monday asking if the author’s bio that the publisher has is the way I want it. The bio is definitely written by me but does not seem to be either the first one I sent or the later revised one. The email is from Passenger Books and I assume it is about the analysis and commentary on Joni Mitchell’s California that I am doing for a collection, edited by Lisa Sornberger, to be published in 2012 by an impress of 3 O’clock Press (Sumach) in Toronto
Next day I get a phone call from Toronto asking why I have “California” in the blurb. I reply that it is the name of the song I am reviewing and I put it there because I thought that was the way Lisa was formatting the blurbs.
“Who’s Lisa?” says the voice from the editorial offices.

Uh-Oh!...“The editor of the book about Joni Mitchell’s poetry and music,” I reply.
This is a book about Alison Knowles’ The Big Book. We have been out of touch for a while but it is finally coming out.

Ahhh mystery solved. A wonderful and clear communicator from Passenger Books explained that this was for the book we had spoken about more than a year ago and it is now in the final stages.
Thank you Corinn for sticking with me through the confusion.
