The Mansfield Downtown Partnership and Storrs Center master developer LeylandAlliance are teaming up with the Mansfield Parks and Recreation Department to offer unique Halloween fun in Storrs Center on Saturday, October 27.

Children are invited to wear their Halloween costumes and visit Storrs Center for Trick-or-Treating in the new downtown!  Many of the shops will have treats for children, including Moe’s Southwest Grill, Froyoworld, Subway, Insomnia Cookies, Mooyah Burgers and Fries, The Oaks on the Square leasing office, Skora’s Barber Shop, Body Language, and Sweet Emotions.  Trick-or-Treating will be welcome from 4:00 pm until 5:00 pm (or until treats run out).  All children should be accompanied by an adult.  This event will be held rain or shine.

At 5:00 pm, everyone is invited to head over to the Mansfield Community Center for the Mansfield Parks and Recreation Department’s annual Halloween Party and Trick-or-Trunk!  There will be fun games and activities in the gym, and Mansfield residents and businesses will be outside with their decorated vehicles for children to safely trick-or-treat in the blocked off parking lot.  For more information about the Community Center’s events, please call 860.429.3015.

Visitors to Storrs Center may park in the Storrs Center parking garage.  The first two hours in the garage are free; additional time is one dollar per hour.  The garage is located on Royce Circle, which intersects with Dog Lane.

Storrs Center is a new mixed-use, pedestrian-oriented downtown in Mansfield, Connecticut.  The downtown features shops, restaurants, services, and apartment homes that are interspersed with a town square and public areas in a new neighborhood located at the intersection of Storrs Road and the University of Connecticut.

No, North Korea isn't making me nervous. They're just a bunch of big mouthed small minded windRead More bags. What really makes me nervous are the politicians currently in power around here, namely Dan Malloy and Barack Obama. They make me plenty more nervous than Kim Jong Un...

ADHD is a real disorder but is way over-diagnosed. When a boy isn't engaged (bored, not challenged),Read More he's slapped with a label. Sometimes drugs are appropriate, other times it could mean that he needs to move up a grade level or be stimulated in another way. But other times its just covering problems up. I'd like to know what other countries do that diagnose ADHD.

Why not make them public! The whole public has been on this since begining. We mourned and have hadRead More tribute after tribute. We got to see the faces of the victims, why can't we see the evidence, life and witnesses of a man who did such a hienous act.. I don't get it.

Why not name Marriage between people of the same sex "Gayrriage" and make them as valid asRead More marriage. It may keep more people happy.

And there is the great thing about the Internet. I came here (just found Patch the other day) forRead More some civil discussion about local events with people in my community and not one post later it devolves to, essentially, name calling by anonymous users. It’s the most perfect constant in the universe. Anyway, no, 17 years is not that long in the grand scheme of things, but this is not the 1950’s. And I don’t see why in this case it’s Bill Clinton’s values. He signed the law, but I fail to see how that effects the current discussion. It would seem to be the values of the country as whole that are changing.
