The Birds

The ECSU Performing Arts Department Theatre Program and Drama Society are proud to present The Birds by Walter Kerr, based on the play byAristophanes, which will
be directed by Ellen Faith Brodie.  As described by the director, "Walter Kerr's updated version of  Aristophanes' classical Greek comedy, The Birds, will take the audience to a magical world where humans seek to become like their feathered friends in order
to establish Cloud Cuckooland, a kingdom high in the sky, where they can live like and rule as the 'Gods.'

Within this topsy-turvy world of wildly comic archetypes, gender, power, and politics are humorously presented through banter, song, and dance."

The Birds will be presented February 21-24, 2013 (Thursday- Saturday at 7:30pm; Mid-Day Matinees on Thursday and Friday at 11:00 am; Sunday at 4:00pm)
in the Harry Hope Theatre (Shafer Hall ground floor; corner of High and Valley Streets, Willimantic, CT).

The ticket prices are as follows: $5 for Students and groups of 10 or more; $10 for Eastern faculty, staff, alumni, and Senior Citizens; $12 for general public. For reservations, please call the Harry Hope Theatre box office at 860-465-5123.
