UConn's Community School of the Arts Holds Online Silent Auction

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

STORRS, CT, November 9, 2012 − Over 100 items will be up for bid at an Online Silent Auction held by UConn’s Community School of the Arts (CSA) to raise money for its Scholarship and General Support Fund. The auction will run from November 11 through December 14, 2012. Bidding will close on December 14th. Bidders can view and bid on auction items online at www.csa.uconn.edu/auction or at the Tolland Building on UConn’s Depot Campus at 3 Witryol Place, off Route 44 in Storrs, CT.

Proceeds from the Silent Auction benefit the Community School of the Arts Scholarship and General Support Fund at the UCONN Foundation. CSA provides programs serving students that range from toddlers to seniors, and a wide variety of offerings - from private voice and instrument lessons to music and art classes for all ages. There is a consistent need for student scholarships, which can be applied to music or art classes, as well as school vacation programs offered during April and the summer.

This year’s auction features a wide variety of items, including vacation getaways, gift certificates to dozens of area restaurants, businesses and national chains; tickets to local cultural attractions, including the Mark Twain House, Connecticut’s Beardsley Zoo, and Mystic Seaport. Other items include tickets to the Jorgensen Center for Performing Arts, Hartford Symphony, Eastern Connecticut Symphony, and the Bushnell; handmade pottery and jewelry, original artwork, and so much more!

For more information, call the Community School of the Arts at 860-486-1073 or visit us online at www.csa.uconn.edu.
