This Week at the Mansfield Public Library: July 31-Aug. 6, 2012

Events and programs at the Mansfield Public Library for July 31 - Aug. 6, 2012.

The back-to-school ads may be starting up, but there's still a lot of Summer left! And there are still some fun events planned at the Library.

Today, Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at 2:00 PM we will be hosting the Can-Do Agility Dog program as they demonstrate running an agility course. Watch as the dog and handler teams work together, communicate and complete a timed course. The Can-Do dogs have visited us in the past, and are always a big hit.  This event is great for all ages, free and open to the public.

Later tonight join us at 7:00 PM for a School Building Project Information Session. This public information meeting is offered to give residents a chance to learn more about the proposed project. The Town Council is contemplating a Bond Referendum on the Proposed School Building Project for the November 6, 2012 ballot.

On Wednesday, August 1, 2012, our Wonderful Wednesday story time will take place at 10:30 AM in the program room. Join us for stories, songs and fun!

Looking for some spooky fun for grown-ups? The Quiet Corner Paranormal Investigators will be joining us on Thursday, August 2, 2012 at 6:00 PM in the Buchanan Auditorium. They will explain their rules and guidelines for their investigations, how they decipher misleading evidence, and will talk about some cases they've investigated in the state. This program is open to Teens and Adults only, and is not appropriate for small children.

On Friday, August 3, 2012, Miss Judy will be hosting Dream Big with Arts and Crafts, so come in and Be an Inventor with her at 2:00 PM! You'll be starting with a box (bring one in if you can) and we'll provide the other materials.

Just a reminder to all our Toddler Time friends, there is no Toddler Time program in August. It will return again in September.

Our Family Story Time is on Saturday, August 4, 2012, at 10:30 AM. Come in and have fun hearing stories and working on an arts & crafts project afterwards.

Saturday is also the very last Summer School Computer Lab. It will take place from 2:00 - 4:00 PM. During this time students working on summer educational programs will be given priority access to our computers so they can do their work.

Next Monday, August 6, 2012 at 10:00 AM, come in to learn more about downloading eBooks and eAudiobooks at an Overdrive Workshop. If you have an eReader (Nook or Kindle) or an iPhone/Pod/Pad and would like to learn how to borrow eBooks for your devices, this is where you can get more information, and even see a walkthrough.

As you can see, we're still celebrating Summer here at the Library! Come in and join in some of the fun.
