August 2, 2011: Summer Sun, Cool Water, Ice Cream and Animal Stories

Here are five reasons you should get out and about town today.

1. Today will be sunny with a high near 84, according to reports from the National Weather Service.

3. The  has introduced its new Sundae of the Month for August - Chocolate Chaos. It consists of Devil's Food Cake with chocolate icing from the UConn Bakery, topped with chocolate brownie fudge ice cream, Hershey's chocolate syrup, whipped cream and chocolate sprinkles.

4. You can head on over to the  for their 8:30 a.m.  Class. The session combines a variety of underwater exercises utilizing the deep and shallow ends of the pool. The class runs $59 - $64 for members and $79 - $86 for non-members.

5. Up for a drive? The Lutz Children's Museum in Manchester is offering an "Animal Stories" program for children ages 3 to 5 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. The cost is $13 for members and $15 for non-members.
