May 3, 2011: Region 19 Budget Referendum Vote

Here are five reasons you should get out and about town today.

1. Today will be mostly cloudy with a high near 68, according to reports from the National Weather Service.

2. Soon, Mansfield-Storrs Patch will be making room for local  on the site. Interested and have something to say? Let me know at elyssa.millspaugh@patch.com.

3. The Budget Referendum Vote for  will be held from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Audrey P. Beck Municipal Building.

4. The 2011 Master of Fine Arts Exhibition is at the 's  today through May 8. Doors open at 10 a.m.

5. You can head on over to the  for their 8:30 a.m.  Class. The session combines a variety of underwater exercises utilizing the deep and shallow ends of the pool. The class runs $59 - $64 for members and $79 - $86 for non-members.

ADHD is a real disorder but is way over-diagnosed. When a boy isn't engaged (bored, not challenged),…Read More he's slapped with a label. Sometimes drugs are appropriate, other times it could mean that he needs to move up a grade level or be stimulated in another way. But other times its just covering problems up. I'd like to know what other countries do that diagnose ADHD.

It’s the most perfect constant in the universe. Anyway, no, 17 years is not that long in the grand scheme of things, but this is not the 1950’s. And I don’t see why in this case it’s Bill Clinton’s values. He signed the law, but I fail to see how that effects the current discussion. It would seem to be the values of the country as whole that are changing.
