Patch Poll: Does CT's Primary Matter?

There are four names on the April 24 ballot, but Mitt Romney is the de facto nominee. Is Connecticut's presidential primary moot?

Republicans will go to the polls on Tuesday, April 24 - at an estimated cost of $1 million - to vote for their presidential candidate to face Barack Obama in November. One name on that ballot, Rick Santorum, has already dropped out. Another, Newt Gingrich, has admitted in interviews he is out of the running. And a third, Ron Paul, is barely even mentioned as a contender anymore.

Mitt Romney is the de facto nominee for president for the GOP, even though states are continuing to hold primaries and caucuses. Av Harris, spokesman for the secretary of the state's office, said the total cost of the primary is about $1 million, paid at the local level by the 169 towns hosting the voting.

Is it worth it to spend $1 million on a race that has already been decided? Take our poll and add your thoughts in the comments.
