President Barack Obama came to Connecticut Monday evening for a pair of quick fundraising visits with supporters and wealthy donors.
to a $500-per-ticket reception at the Stamford Marriott, followed by a $35,800-a-head dinner at the Westport home of movie mogul Harvey Weinstein. The money will go straight to Obama’s 2012 presidential campaign.
. The president’s campaign has raised $2.8 million versus Romney’s campaign raising $4.8 million.
All this talk about money has got us asking: would you pay $500 to see a presidential candidate speak, whether it be Obama or Romney? Take our poll and share your thoughts in the comments.
Speaking of Stamford, I was there yesterday across the street, with other patriots and common sense Americans protesting that "WE built this, Mr. President!!" Obama was at the Stamford Marriott for another of his desperate fundraisers, hoping to (not gonna happen!) make up some of the ground he has lost to Romney. ..."Obama is losing independents and having trouble fundraising in Connecticut. ...it's a big switch from 2008. "Where you can really see his problems is in fundraising."... "See the financial shellacking Obama is getting from Romney in one of America's wealthiest communities"... "Romney is raising four times as much from an area that, in 2008, Obama positively relied on."... "The area is on pace to outperform the money contributed in 2008. If any donors are sitting out, they're Obama donors being replaced by Romney backers"... "Obama is getting creamed on fundraising on this crucial turf. The wealthy Connecticut crowd that paid the rent in 2008 isn't with him anymore."... http://www.businessinsider.com/obama-fundraising-problems-in-connecticut-2012-8
