Wireless Zone Raises $2,100 for Northeast Opportunities for Wellness, Inc.

Wireless Zone of Putnam, Killingly and Windham joined together at the Woodstock Fair during the 2013 Labor Day weekend to raise money for Northeast Opportunities for Wellness, Inc. With the help of the local community, Wireless Zone was able to raise over $2,100.00 for the cause!

As a family owned and locally operated Verizon Premium Wireless Retailer, Wireless Zone views the local community as more than just a business opportunity. They value the family centric ‘quiet corner’ of Connecticut and go above and beyond to support organizations that embrace the health of the community.

As a small business for over twenty years, Wireless Zone developed a close friendship with the Rawson family of Putnam, who founded Northeast Opportunities for Wellness in 2011. After learning about the goal of the organization, owners Patricia Horan, Joe Salan and Chris Krushefsky of the Putnam Wireless Zone, decided that they would raise funds on behalf of N.O.W. annually at the Woodstock Fair.

In 2012, the Wireless Zone team raised almost $1,500.00 for the organization. This year they motivated their customer service representatives to achieve an even greater monetary goal. Each day, a new team of people worked together to raise money for N.O.W. It became a competition to see who could raise the most for the cause. “We didn’t win this year, but we’re looking forward to regaining our title as the fundraising champions next year,” says Mandi Korch, employee at the Wireless Zone of Killingly.

With the help of the Wireless Zone spin wheel, the daily teams were able to encourage the patrons of the fair to donate money towards this outstanding cause. As a personal thank you for contributing, Wireless Zone gave away free prizes on the spin wheel. Prizes included free headphones, free car chargers, free cases, and even a $99.00 gift certificate towards any smartphone of choice! With the guarantee of winning an exciting product from the Wireless Zone and the ability to donate to such an incredible non profit organization, there was always a line of people waiting to spin the wheel! The result was a tremendous $2,100 for N.O.W.
