Although several side streets remain closed during the day for various construction projects, downtown Willimantic's Main Street is now re-paved. The paving was delayed until the night of 10/01/12, but was completed on that day into the overnight hours. Motorists on Tuesday morning were pleasantly surprised by the stunning change through the downtown area.
Downtown Main Street Willimantic has been a washboard pavement affecting all drivers and vehicles for many years, but several side projects have caused the re-paving to be put off.
