Mansfield FD Responds to Small Brush Fire

The fire was quickly extinguished Wednesday.

The Mansfield Fire Department suppressed a small brush fire Wednesday behind a playground at .

The fire, which was reported around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, was contained to a 10x20 foot area, and partially extinguished with the help of teachers at the school before the fire department arrived on scene, Mansfield Fire Chief David Dagon said.

No structures were in danger and no injuries were reported, Dagon said.

Upon arrival, the department wet down the area and completely extinguished the smoldering embers, Dagon said.

The cause of the fire is unknown, Dagon said.

Residents with burn permits are reminded to contact the fire department before burning to make sure conditions are suitable.
