Mansfield Man Arrested for Impersonating a Police Officer

Resident's phone call leads to his own arrest.

Connecticut State Police arrested a 29-year-old Mansfield man for impersonating one of their own on Wednesday.

Police said that David Frank Adamcik, 29, of 34 Baxter Rd., Storrs, contacted Troop C to report that he had stopped a motor vehicle on Route 195 that he believed was being operated by an impaired driver.

When police arrived on the scene, officers determined that the alleged impaired driver was not operating under the influence of drugs or alcohol and was allowed to leave the scene, according to police.

Adamcik was charged with use of improper high beams/red lights/and flashing lights and impersonation of a police officer, according to an arrest report.

Bond was set at $2,500. Adamcik is scheduled to appear in Tolland Superior Court in Rockville on April 20.
