Mansfield Police Blotter: Nov. 15-19

The following arrest information was supplied by Connecticut State Police Troop C. Inclusion on this list does not indicate a conviction.

Nov. 15

Two men were arrested and charged after allegedly breaking into a vacant trailer house at 91 Chaffeeville Road. Mathew Deason, 18, of 84 Littlefield Road, Hampton, and an unidentified juvenile, 16, was charged were each charged third-degree burglary. Deason was released on a $5,000 non-surety bond and is scheduled to appear in Rockville Superior Court on Dec. 13. The unidentified juvenile was released to his parents.

State police are investigating a complaint filed by an unidentified female alleging that three men tried to force their way into her car when she was parking in a apartment complex lot on Foster Drive. The woman told police that she was talking on her cell phone while sitting in her locked and parked car at 7:30 p.m. when three men, possibly Hispanic, approached her car and tried to forcefully open the driver's side door. State police ask anyone with information related to the incident to call the troop at (860) 896-3200 ext. 8088.

Nov. 16

Two people were brought to Windham Memorial Hospital after a two-car accident involving one vehicle rear-ending another. Kenneth Guyette was stopped in his 2004 Jaguar X-Type at a stop sign on Mulberry Road at the intersection with Warrenville Road when a 2004 Volkswagen GTI driven by Joshua W. Connelly failed to stop and struck Guyette's vehicle. Kenneth Guyette, 40, and Christine Guyette, 13, were taken by UConn Ambulance to the hospital for treatment of back and neck pain.

Paul Staffieri, 22, of 35 Black Hill Road, Shelton, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs and failure to maintain the proper lane.

Rachel Shannon Stonge, 20, of 80 Cisar Road, Apt. 131, Willington, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and failure to grant the right of way.

State police are investigating the forced entry into a home on Depot Road. Someone or several people broke into the house and rummaged through its interior.

Nov. 17

A woman was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and making in inappropriate turn after leaving the roadway on North Eagleville Road and striking a tree. Rebecca Iris Banning, 21, of 453 Turnpike Road, Ashford, was taken to the hospital in Windham for treatment of minor injuries to her right knee. She was later charged with driving under the influence. She was released on a $500 non-surety bond and is scheduled to appear in Rockville Superior Court on Nov. 27.

Nov. 19

State police are investigating the theft of an iPod from a private residence at 4 S. Eagleville Road. There are no suspects or witnesses in this incident.
