Mansfield Sexual Assault Case Continued

A Mansfield man's case has been continued until July 1.

The case against a Mansfield man accused of sexually assaulting two minors was continued Friday morning in Rockville Superior Court, according to court officials.

William G. Murphy, 45, is facing charges related to his May 3 arrest for two counts of fourth-degree sexual assault, second-degree unlawful restraint and three counts of risk of injury to a minor, according to an arrest report.

The State Police Eastern District Major Crime Squad began an investigation in December 2010 into the allegations of sexual assault of two minors which “reportedly had taken place in Mansfield between 2007 and 2008,” according to a news release from the department.

Murphy will next appear in Rockville Superior Court on July 1, according to court officials.

Murphy’s attorney at the law firm of Santos & Seeley, P.C. could not be reached for comment on Friday afternoon.
