Newington Man Enters Not Guilty Plea in Fatal Campus Shuttle Bus Accident

Bus operator Lukasz Gilewski is facing charges.

The driver of a  shuttle bus that hit and killed a university student in March has entered a not guilty plea to charges stemming from the death of 20-year-old David N. Plamondon, according to court officials.

Lukasz Gilewski, of Newington entered the plea Tuesday morning in Rockville Superior Court, court officials said.

Gilewski is facing charges of negligent homicide with a motor vehicle and failure to yield right of way to a pedestrian in a crosswalk, according to an arrest report.

He has been released on $10,000 bail and is scheduled to next appear in Rockville Superior Court on September 7, according to court officials.

after an investigation by the department determined that Plamondon, of Westminster, MA, was walking in a pedestrian crosswalk at the intersection of Hillside Road and Alumni Drive at the time of the accident, police said.
