OMG PD: Mishap at Gas Station Leads to Drug Arrest, Woman Found Safe in Woods

A look at some remarkable police cases from Connecticut State Police Troop C Barracks.

The Case: Joseph D. Bean, 19, of 2655 Heathrow Dr., Colorado Springs, CO,  was arrested by state police on River Road in Willington and charged with drug paraphernalia, possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to use with a cannabis substance less than .5 ounces, illegal sale of narcotic or certain hallucinagens, possession of a controlled substance and possessing less than one-half ounce of marijuana.

The OMG PD Twist: On July 16, Connecticut State Police responded to the Mobil gas station on River Road in Willington. According to a police report, Bean forgot to remove the gas nozzle after filling his car up, and drove away causing “minor damage” to the pump. Police conducted a search of the vehicle and found 47 grams of hallucinogenic mushrooms, three grams of marijuana, a bracelet-style pipe, a blunt containing marijuana, vacuum seal bags and a vacuum seal machine, according to a police report. Bean was held on $50,000 bail and has since been released, according to court records. He is scheduled to next appear in Rockville Superior Court on August 1.

The Case: State police responded to Hydeville Road in Stafford to investigate a report of a missing elderly female with Dementia.

The OMG PD Twist: Connecticut State Police issued a Silver Alert to more than 3,000 homes within a 10-mile radius, while police, K-9 units and emergency service units arrived on the scene, according to a police report. After searching for more than four hours, authorities found the woman in a “heavily wooded area,” according to a police report. Police said the woman was in “good physical condition with only a few minor scratches.” She was then reunited with her family, according to a police report.
