OMG PD: Nov. 23-29

A look at some remarkable police cases from Connecticut State Police Troop C Barracks.

The Case: Scott Walter, 24, of 50 West Main St., Vernon, was arrested by Connecticut State Police on I-84 North and charged with reckless driving and disobeying the signal of an officer.

The OMG PD Twist: On Nov. 24, police attempted to stop Walter's vehicle on I-84 East in Vernon after authorities clocked the vehicle at 92 mph, according to a police report. Police said that when they attempted to catch up with the vehicle, Walter accelerated to speeds of 115 mph, cutting in and out of traffic and “utilizing [the] right shoulder to pass other cars” before coming to a stop at Exit 67, according to a police report. Bond was set at $1,000. Walter is due in Rockville Superior Court on Dec. 10.
