OMG PD: Oct. 12-18

A look at some remarkable police cases from Connecticut State Police Troop C Barracks.

The Case: Andrew Izzo, 19, of 1754 Park Ave., Baltimore, MD, was arrested by Connecticut State Police at the rest area in Willington and charged with reckless driving – greater than 85 mph, drug paraphernalia and possession of less than half an ounce of cannabis.

The OMG PD Twist: On Oct. 15 state police clocked Izzo driving at 90 mph on I-84 West, according to a police report. Police also observed Izzo smoking a marijuana “bowl” while driving, and stopped his vehicle near Exit 69W, according to a police report. During the course of the traffic stop, police found Izzo in possession of two zip-lock bags containing 1.30 ounces of a "green plant-like material," determined to be marijuana, according to a police report. Two male passengers were also issued infractions for having “small amounts of marijuana” and drug paraphernalia, according to a police report. Izzo's bond was set at $500. He is scheduled to appear in Rockville Superior Court on Nov. 5.
