OMG PD: Oct. 5-11

A look at some remarkable police cases from Connecticut State Police Troop C Barracks.

The Case: Ramon Cosme-Centeno, 25, of 58 Mansfield St., Hartford, was arrested by Connecticut State Police on Kelly Road in South Windsor, and charged with two counts of failure to wear a safety belt, improper registration, insurance coverage failing the minimum requirements, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, engaging police in a pursuit, operating a vehicle under the influence of drugs or alcohol, failure to drive at a reasonable distance, two counts of failure to obey a control signal, a stop sign violation and failure to have headlights lit and devices illuminated.

The OMG PD Twist: On Oct. 6, state police said Cosme-Centeno was driving West on I-84 near Exit 65 with no headlights while following another vehicle too closely. Following an attempt to make a traffic stop, police said Cosme-Centeno fled police and crashed his car on Kelly Road in South Windsor. Police said Cosme-Centeno was later found to be “intoxicated on drugs," according to an arrest report. Bond was set at $2,000. He is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 16.
