Police ID Man Killed in Route 44 Crash

The accident occurred around 3 p.m. Wednesday in Mansfield.

The motorcyclist involved in has died.

Brian Bonvisuto, 59, of Waterbury, died from injuries he sustained when his motorcycle, traveling west, collided with a Toyota Camry that was traveling east and attempting to make a left hand turn into , according to a police report.

Bonvisuto was transported by Mansfield Emergency Services to Windham Hospital where he was later pronounced dead, according to a police report.

Police said Bonvisuto was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.

Simon Dudley, 18, of Ashford, the Camry's driver, was not injured, police said.

The accident shut down Route 44 at Cedar Swamp Road for more than one hour Wednesday.

The case remains under investigation. Anyone who may have witnessed the accident is asked to contact Connecticut State Police Troop C at (860) 896-3200, ext. 8088.
