UConn Football Player Arrested, Suspended

Running back Joe Williams is facing larceny charges.

University of Connecticut running back Joe Williams was suspended indefinitely Monday from football for violating team policies, the Bradenton Herald reports.

The suspension came days after Williams, 19, was arrested and charged with theft of a credit card, illegal use of a credit card and sixth-degree larceny, according to a Hartford Courant report.

UConn did not elaborate on the reason for Williams' suspension, and declined further comment, according to the paper.
