State and local officials paid a visit to the open Storrs Center businesses on Dog Lane.

Congressman Joe Courtney, along with Mansfield Mayor Elizabeth Paterson and town officials Monday toured the newly-opened businesses at Storrs Center.

Courtney said Monday he was excited about the development of local businesses and believed Storrs Center would make Mansfield a stronger community.

"What Mansfield has accomplished here is something I think communities all across the state should try to learn from and follow," Courtney said. "This is how you grow the economy," he said.

"Joe Courtney has supported this project since day one," Paterson said. "This was the first visit he made after he was elected to congress," she said. "He's always kept up with the project and his visit is a great tribute to all of our legislators who helped us get the funding. I'm happy he's here," Paterson said.
