Republican Registrar of Voters Beverly Miela does not expect a high voter turnout in Mansfield for Tuesday's Presidential Preference Primary of the Republican Party.
As of 11 a.m. Tuesday, 30 people had cast a ballot in Mansfield - a 2.2 percent voter turnout, according to Democratic Registrar Andrea Epling.
The Town has 1,365 active registered Republicans.
"There is just no real close contest at this point," Miela said.
"Rick Santorum bowed out and Mitt Romney I believe already has enough votes to secure a nomination at the convention," she said. "Turnout is going to be low."
Miela said the Town registrar has ordered enough ballots to account for a 60 percent voter turnout, which she said should be more than enough given the Town's voter turnout in the 2008 Republican Primary.
Mansfield saw a 35 percent turnout that year, according to Miela.
"As for today, I think we may get 10-15 percent of voters," Miela said.
The polls in Mansfield will remain open until 8 p.m.
