Mansfield Gets Preview of The Oaks on the Square

Construction of Phase 1A of the Storrs Center project is underway, and Thursday night, Christine D. Richards, senior vice president of property operations for Education Realty Trust (EDR), one of the project’s developers, gave residents and community leaders a preview of the proposed residential units, now known as The Oaks on the Square.

The Oaks on the Square is expected to have the following amenities, as show in Thursday’s PowerPoint presentation:

• Community events;
• a Full-size washer and dryer in every unit;
• stainless steel kitchen appliances;
• controlled access entry;
• 24/7 maintenance;
• professional on-site management;
• a business center;
• pet-friendly;
• green space;
• parking;
• granite counter-tops in the kitchen and bathroom;
• wood floors in the living area;
• satin nickel finishes;
• ceramic tile in the bathroom; and a
• ceiling fan and accent wall in the living area.

Residents may choose to live in:

• a studio (approximately 420 square feet);
• one-bedroom/one-bathroom apartment (approximately 550 square feet);
• two-bedroom/two-bathroom apartment (approximately 796 square feet); or a
• three-bedroom/three-bathroom apartment (approximately 1,091 square feet).

Richards said multiple layouts for each option will be available.

The Oaks on the Square is slated to open in the summer of 2012 and will be located “in the heart” of Storrs Center on the edge of the campus.
