Plans are underway for a new rail service that would run between New London and Storrs and beyond, The Day of New London is reporting.
The newspaper says backers of the plan are awaiting federal funds that would allow preparations for the project to start. The expanded service would eventually operate between New London and Palmer, Mass., with a stop in Storrs.
