Site Plan Improvements to Post Office Road in Final Stages

A small gathering attended a public hearing on the project at Town Hall on Tuesday.

Now that the has occurred, work is well underway on the final phases of the project’s design plans. Tuesday night, the Mansfield Downtown Partnership gave residents the opportunity to comment on the proposed renovations to the United States Post Office Parcel and Post Office Road.

In a PowerPoint presentation, Geoffrey Fitzgerald of BL Companies, the Meriden engineering firm selected to provide engineering services for Storrs Road, displayed mock-ups for the improvements and said the Storrs Post Office parcel is “a very important piece of the puzzle” in the Storrs Center project.

The proposed improvements to the site surrounding the Post Office facility, include parking, grading and drainage modifications to the portion of Post Office Road adjacent to the Post Office facility.
