Storrs Resident Nominated to Military Service Academy
Senator Richard Blumenthal revealed his selections Thursday.
One Storrs resident was among 70 Connecticut students nominated to Military Service academies by Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-CT).
Evan West was nominated to the United States Air Force Academy.
“These extraordinary young leaders will help continue to make our armed forces the strongest and smartest in world history,” Blumenthal said in a prepared statement.

“This year’s nominees are among the brightest and toughest of their generation. I congratulate them and their families for their commitment to serving their country, and I am proud to aid them in pursuing this opportunity.”
Nominees were chosen by Blumenthal’s nonpartisan Selection Committee made up of service academy graduates and retired military personnel.
