U.S. Senate Race: How Much Have Your Storrs-Mansfield Neighbors Given?

Information for the U.S. Senate candidates listed in the dropdown above has been updated as of the most recent campaign finance filing deadline, July 15, according to the Federal Election Commission.

The next deadline is October 15, the FEC says.

In Storrs-Mansfield, Democrat Chris Murphy has the most donations among the candidates listed. Murphy received four separate donations of $50, $100, $100 and $250 from Kenneth Dardick, listed on the document as a physician at

Murphy also received two separate donations of $400 and $50 by Jerome Smith, listed as retired; four separate donations of $100 from Philip I. Marcus, listed as a UConn Professor of Virology; and three separate donations of $100, $100 and $200 from Carl Schaefer, listed as a retired UConn professor.

The rest of the donations to Murphy ranged in increments of $5 to $250.

Republican Linda McMahon's received two separate donations in Mansfield - $100 and $50 - from Roger Abell, listed on the document as the business owner of Potter's Oil Service, Inc.

Susan Bysiewicz, who is challenging Murphy in the Democratic primary, received a $2,500 donation from Mansfield's Daniel Briere, listed as CEO of Telechoice. She also received a $250 donation from Stanley E. Zaleski, listed as sales management from Colonial Supplemental Insurance.

Republican Chris Shays, who is challenging McMahon for the nomination, received his sole donation in Storrs - $500 - from Arthur J. Rocque, Jr., listed as a state commissioner.

Kie Westby, a Republican, was not listed in the document for Storrs-Mansfield.

Independent candidate Lee Whitnum, a Greenwich resident whose past occupations include teacher, software engineer and paralegal, is not listed in the searchable database because she reported no financial activity, according to the FEC.
