Local Cook Seeks To Win Mrs. Holiday Contest

Help local Willimantic Woman put Eastern Connecticut on the map by voting for her daily between now and September 7.

I recently submitted a movie to Taste of Home cooking magazine to be considered their Mrs. Holiday in a national contest! People have to like the Mrs. Holiday page in order to help Ruth move from her current 4th place position.

Check out her 2 minute movie clip at this link;

LIKE the Mrs. Holiday page, click on VOTE NOW, and then find my entry in the Most Popular section! You have to click on "view all" to see mine. In my movie clip, I feature area events that I've been a part of as well as my original recipe for Burgundy Beef Stew.

I've been a Taste of Home fan for years, since my mom got me my first subscription. From her, I learned to make Armenian food and to enjoy meals made from scratch; never anything prepared. Although I embrace that standard today, I don't do it all the time. I work part time as a piano/music teacher and home school children so I don't always have a "from scratch" meal on the table!

If I win this contest, I would get to travel to my home state and see my family more often since Taste of Home's headquarters is in Wisconsin. I would also bring GOOD media coverage to our state. TOH is the largest magazine for cooks so you know what that means! And there is a year long job and cash prize for the first place winner!

There are other levels of honor in this contest, too. I hope you will join me in my "quest for the crown." Vote daily through your Facebook account. And happy baking! If you need assistance with your voting (it's tricky sometimes!) give me a call (860) 423-9156 or e-mail me at jon.ruth.alumbaugh@snet.net.
