3 Mansfield Residents Graduate from Loomis Chaffee

Located in Windsor, Connecticut, The Loomis Chaffee School is a co-educational boarding and day school of 680 students from 28 states and 35 countries.

The following students were among the 218 graduates from the Loomis Chaffee Class of 2012. The school's 96th Commencement Ceremony was held on June 8.

More than 1,200 attendees tuned in to Commencement speaker and businessman William Bissell, Loomis Class of 1984, managing director of one of India's most successful retail companies Fabindia Overseas Pvt. Ltd. Bissell is the co-founder of The Fabindia School, which strives to "emulate Loomis' commitment to encourage students to be true to their own best selves."

Bissell asked the graduates to lead the vanguard in reimagining a new approach to life, business, and social interactions.

Aaron Chen of Mansfield, was awarded Mathematics Department Honors and English Department Honors and was a member of the Boys Varsity Soccer team. He will matriculate at the University of Pennsylvania.

Riley Clark-Long of Storrs, was awarded the Frederick G. Torrey Senior Philosophy and Religion Award and History Department Honors, and was a member of the Boys Varsity Cross Country team. He will matriculate at Connecticut College.

Benjamin Hiskes of Storrs, was inducted into the Cum Laude Society and received Mathematics Department Honors. He was an Exhibited Student Artist for watercolor and a member of the LC Democrats. As Captain of the Boys Varsity Cross Country Team, he was named the Individual Founders League Varsity Champion and Founders League Varsity All-Star, and received the Most Valuable Runner Award. For Boys Varsity Track and Field he was named Founders League Champion: 4x400 relay. He will matriculate at Carleton College.
