Baruzzi: Vinton Water 'Safe to Drink'

The district will continue to monitor the water supply.

Superintendent of Schools Fred Baruzzi announced Thursday that a recent water test at Annie E. Vinton Elementary School showed no traces of contamination.

Baruzzi detailed the situation in an e-mail to parents, and said the school will "go back to business as usual," Friday now that the water is safe to drink.

In November and December 2011, water tests conducted by Premier Laboratory, an environmental and drinking water analytical service based in the Dayville section of Killingly, indicated that there were traces of coliform, a bacteria, in the water supply.
