Positive Parenting Course

Natchaug Hospital is offering a series of courses on Positive Parenting at the main hospital in Mansfield Center. The courses will be held on Mondays in seven-week cycles throughout the fall and spring from 6 to 8 p.m. in the community room in the main building.

The “Parenting Children and Teens” courses are conducted in a relaxed and supportive atmosphere where parents and caregivers are encouraged to discuss their child’s behavior challenges. They will also learn effective, research-based methods of communication and discipline including positive reinforcement that will enable them to successfully change behavior while improving their relationship with their child.

Parents can expect positive results in terms of increased cooperation and improved parent-child communication, self esteem and family atmosphere. A free parent handbook and light refreshments will be provided to all participants.
