Mansfield and UConn Cancellations, Delays for Thursday, Snow to Stop by Mid-Morning

The snow is expected to turn to rain by mid-morning, but until then stay safe on the roads and call ahead to find out whether your event, appointment is on schedule.

The early season nor'easter has deposited several inches of fresh snow on the University of Connecticut Storrs campus and the town and several businesses and facilities have announced delays and cancellations for the day.

According to the National Weather Service, the weather will gradually improve today, with snow expected to stop by around 10 a.m. with the percipitation turning rain for the rest of the day. It wil stay breezy and cold, with a high of around 42ºF during the day and less than 30ºF overnight.

As of 5:30 a.m. here is a list of programs and businesses that have either canceled activities or delayed opening this morning. If you know of more please add the information in the comment section below:

Town of Mansfield:

Mansfield Public Schools are on a 90-minute delay

Regional 19 School District/EO Smith Hgh School is on a 90-minute delay

CrossFit Storrs has canceled the 7:30 a.m. and 9 a.m. classes

University of Connecticut:

UConn Classes scheduled for prior to 11 a.m. have been canceled. Classes will resume at 11 a.m.

UConn Emergency Support Services are required to report as scheduled, according to the university's Facebook page. All other employees are required to report to work by 11 a.m.

UConn Transportation Services announced that bus/AVS service will resume at 10 a.m.
