With faculty, students, family and friends looking on, Morgan Olander of Mansfield Center was one of 112 students to receive a diploma when Pomfret School honored the 112 members of the class of 2013 on Sunday, May 26, at the School's 119th Commencement. Following the senior farewell speech by Harrison W. Chase '13 (an honor conferred by his classmates) and the commencement address by Dr. Ronald E. L. Brown (a member of the Pomfret class of 1988), Charles T. Wilmerding (P '11, '14), President of the Board of Trustees and Head of School Tim Richards (P '15) awarded the diplomas.

Dr. Brown, is a faculty member in the Doctor of Education program at Northeastern University. He is a co-author of The Black College Mystique (2006). After graduating from Pomfret in 1988 he continued on to Brown and then on to Harvard, for his Master's degrees in Education. He spoke of the transformational experience, for him, of attending Pomfret in the 1980's and told the students to think of their Pomfret education as a gift.
