SyFy to Air 'Haunting of Mansfield Mansion'

"One woman's dream house becomes a nightmare when she discovers it was once used as a horrific asylum," says the episode's teaser.

If you're familiar with the area, it’s probably no secret that locals have reported strange ghostly occurrences at the now defunct Mansfield Training School in Storrs, a place meant to "provide for the care, custody, education and employment of mental defective (feeble minded) and epileptic persons" when it first opened on July 1, 1917, according to the Connecticut State Library.

Now, just in time for the Halloween season, an episode of Paranormal Witness on the SyFy network details the events surrounding “Mansfield Mansion,” a residence that was at one time, the superintendent of the Training School’s home, according to the Paranormal Researchers Of Odd Findings (P.R.O.O.F), the team that investigated the site.

The episode, which originally aired last Wednesday, Sept. 28, chronicles the Moore family’s testimony of their time in the mansion.
