UConn Students Look to Trademark 'Kony 2012'

The students recently filed a U.S. Patent.

As the , two students are applying to get "Kony 2012" products trademarked, according to The Smoking Gun Web site.

The Smoking Gun reports that 19-year-old Economics major Clement Lee and his roommate, a business major, filed with the United States Patent and Trademark Office on March 9 “to secure the mark for use on books, pamphlets, and posters.”

Lee told The Smoking Gun that he intends to share profits from the slogan with Invisible Children, a non-profit organization raising awareness about Kony through social media – most notably a 30-minute video that went viral earlier this month.
