Safety First at the Stadium

As you prepare for summer activities such as concerts, sports games, and festivals- it’s important to know what to bring and what to leave at home. You never want to be that person who brings too much or brings too little, so here’s a few tips to keep you on track and most importantly- safe.

Valuables: Although you may love to show off your valuable and cherished items, an arena is probably not the best place. Diamond rings, necklaces, fancy cameras etc grab the attention of pickpocketers and can easily be stolen without your knowledge.

Personal information: Leave things like your social security card, mail, pay stubs and receipts at home, and clean out your bag before you head out. These things have absolutely no use at an event, and if someone gets a hold of them they can easily obtain your personal information and you could become a victim of identity theft.

Too Much: Don’t make the mistake of bringing more than you need, or overstuff your bag. Nothing is worse than lugging around a bag of things you don’t end up needing/using. Try and be concise when filling your bag, and only bring the things you absolutely NEED.

Cash: Although most people don’t find it appealing to walk around a crowded venue with a wad of cash in their pocket, sometimes it’s necessary. While some purchases can be made with a credit or debit card, some vendors may take only cash and you’ll want to be prepared. Of course, you don’t need to withdraw your entire bank account, just be practical and bring a reasonable amount that you think will suffice.

Medicine: If you have any medical conditions, don’t forget to bring along any supplements you may need. From an EpiPen to headache relief pills, it’s important to be prepared so that you can enjoy your time. If anything does happen, you’ll be happy that you were prepared ahead of time!

Phone: These days everybody carries a phone, whether it is to check email, to tweet or to post pic’s on Facebook. It is also comes in handy when you become separated from your friends in the crowd or forget the location of your seat

Now, the question is what do I put my stuff in? Now a day it is not that easy with the concert venues or sports arenas implementing bag restrictions. If there is no restriction on the type of bag brought in, it is likely that you will have a long wait as security goes through each individual’s bag. Secure On Style bags are clear plastic handbag with a collapsible liner, which meet the NFL regulations for clear handbags. Once through security you pull up the liner and your belongings are protected from the public eye and safely zippered away. If you don’t have a clear handbag, plan on putting your belongings in a zip lock bag!  If you bring a handbag to the event, plan on a walk back to your car. When it comes to style and security, Secure on Style bags are the best way to hold your belongings!
